Special Rates Programmes - what are they?

Special Rates Programmes

Last year Parramatta City Council made a successful application to the NSW Department of Local Government for three special rates programmes.

These are:

1. CBD Infrastructure Enhancement Programme
2. Economic Development Programme
3. Surburban Infrastructure Enhancement Programme

Two of them, the CBD Infrastructure Enhancement Program and the Economic Development Program aim to make a major contribution to the achievement of the vision and actions in the Parramatta Regional Environmental Plan. The third, the Suburban Infrastructure Enhancement Program, aims to improve the quality of life in our neighbourhoods.

Four major City Centre Plans, and the redevelopment of Civic Place in conjunction with the new Parramatta Transport Interchange will combine to make the next few years an exciting and challenging period for residents and businesses. The implementation of these plans will be partly funded through the CBD Infrastructure Enhancement and Economic Development Programs.
